3 ingredient detox magic face mask
I have become obsessed with DIY...everything! Mostly because I have realised how much they actually WORK and how much cheaper it can be!
This is truly one of those cases - I have been doing this face mask weekly for over a month and this is what I have noticed:
1. My skin glows
2. Less breakouts
3. SMOOTH - no more weird little rough patches
All these ingredients are cheap as chips and can be bought at your local supermarket if you don't already have them in your kitchen!
These are the magic ingredients...
Coconut oil - is there anything the coconut cannot accomplish in this lifetime?
Activated charcoal powder - this stuff is AMAZING for all kinds of things but it's function is to draw out toxins. Seriously even if you have heartburn take 1 tbsp in water (it doesn't taste like anything) and you'll be sorted.
Bicarb - I am just discovering how amazing this little ingredient is - I use it in my hair as a clarifier before I shampoo - I will post about that soon with the recipe.
For this face mask, you'll need:
1 tbsp coconut oil - I use the Lemke brand (R45)
1 tbsp activated charcoal - I use natures choice (about R37)
1 tbsp bicarb of soda
Melt the coconut oil in the microwave. Add the other two ingredients and stir.
This stuff is messy but it doesn't stain so don't get a fright when it goes all over your sink! Just use a sponge to get it off.
Paste onto your face everywhere! It won't look pretty but would work well on halloween.
Leave on for 10 mins, then use your fingertips in a circular motion all over your face to gently exfoliate.
Wash off - I find the easiest way is starting with wet wipes then moving to warm water. It is messy but it is worth it.
Do this once a week and you will notice a huge difference. The first few times I did it, I did get a few spots the next day - this is from the charcoal drawing out impurities so it is a good thing.
......Like I said - not pretty!
