Green Smoothie

Green smoothies are nothing new and it seems everyone is jumping on the bandwagon.

They usually have kale or spinach in them and other goodies. I have one at the gym after a workout because they return blood sugar to normal and give you a real boost. I also have them if I’m feeling a bit under the weather.

For me, a good green smoothie needs to:

  1. NOT taste like kale
  2. be smooth NOT chunky
  3. Be ice cold
  4. Have a little sweetness

I just have a regular old blender and it does the job fine you just need to blend for slightly longer


1 frozen banana (i buy in bulk and peel and chop them to freeze)

1 cup finely chopped kale (this can also be frozen)

1 cup fresh pineapple juice

1/2 cup milk

1 tsp honey

1 tbsp almond butter

a few ice cubes if you like


Put it all in a blender and process until smooth
